At Summit Rex, showing is about much more than ribbons, titles, and awards. It is an opportunity to celebrate the Devon Rex, learn from experienced breeders and judges, and continually strive to preserve and improve the breed we love.

The International Cat Association (TICA) recognizes the importance of cat shows in promoting responsible cat ownership, educating the public, and preserving the distinctive characteristics of pedigreed breeds. Through its established breed standards, TICA provides a framework for evaluating each cat’s structure, coat, type, and overall presentation. These standards help breeders better understand the qualities that define the Devon Rex and guide thoughtful, responsible breeding decisions.

As ethical Devon Rex breeders, we believe that showing is an important part of our commitment to the breed. Having our cats evaluated by knowledgeable judges gives us valuable perspective on their strengths and areas for improvement. We use this experience to make informed breeding decisions that prioritize health, temperament, correct breed type, and the long-term well-being of our cats.

While awards are exciting and accomplishments worth celebrating, they are never our sole measure of success. Our goal is to produce healthy, well-socialized Devon Rex kittens that embody the breed’s distinctive appearance and affectionate, mischievous personality while maintaining the highest standards of responsible husbandry.

Every show is an opportunity to learn, grow, and honor the breed’s future. For us, showing is one more way to demonstrate our dedication to preserving the Devon Rex for generations to come.
