Our Program

Health is the foundation of everything we do at Summit Rex. We prioritize careful selection, genetic screening, and responsible breeding practices to support the long-term wellbeing of the Devon Rex breed. Devon Rex cats can be predisposed to certain hereditary conditions, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which is why all of our breeding cats undergo comprehensive genetic testing and routine cardiac screening. Our goal is to produce strong, healthy kittens who can thrive as lifelong companions.

The Devon Rex is known for its affectionate, intelligent, and people-oriented nature, and preserving that temperament is just as important as physical type. We focus on producing kittens that embody the breed’s true personality—social, confident, playful, and deeply bonded to their humans. Raised in a home environment with daily interaction and enrichment, our kittens are well-socialized and prepared to become loving, engaged companions in their future homes.

Following the Devon Rex breed standard is essential to preserving the integrity and future of the breed. At Summit Rex, we breed with intention, using the TICA standard as our guide to structure, type, and balance. This ensures that each breeding supports not only the distinctive look of the Devon Rex, but also sound movement, functionality, and overall health. Adhering to the breed standard allows us to honor the breed’s history while responsibly shaping its future.
